Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ROXIE IS CURRENTLY BEING FOSTERED WITH THE GOOD SAMARITAN THAT FOUND HER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IF YOU CAN OFFER ROXIE A FOREVER HOME OR WOULD LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HER, PLEASE EMAIL EUNICE AT EC5622@aol.com or call Happy Paws Happy Homes.
Hi, I'm Roxie! I was wandering around with a canine friend of mine without supervision when a kind woman offered us a place to stay until we can be adopted. I am a beautiful, 2 year old American Staffordshire terrier and as most dogs that are known as 'pit bulls' are, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE people! I want nothing more than to be by your side, regardless of what you are doing. I am currently living with small children (the youngest being 8 months old) and I am good with everyone. I love to give kisses and be petted and scratched behind my ears. My foster mommy takes me on car trips when she can, and she tells people all about how I sometimes put my head in her lap while she's driving. Everyone thinks that's cute! I come when I'm called and know 'sit.' I sometimes enjoy swimming in the small river behind my house. I appear to be housetrained, was just spayed, have all of my vaccines, and am looking for a home where I can be the center of everyone's attention! Here are some additional insights into Roxie's personality from her foster mom: Here are some insites from Eunice on her personality:
I think Roxie would be a wonderful companion to a person that loved her and gave her attention. She IS a people dog and I think would protect you to the end. I spend as much time as I can with her and she is very affectionate. In the evenings before we go to bed, I sit with her outside. She'll run for a minute, but then comes back around the corner to make sure I'm still there. She does this a number of times. She climbs on my lap (although she's not light) and sits while I rub her. She walks with me outside. I spent a couple of nights with her at our River House right after she was spayed. She slept right next to me in the bed - but was aware if something was going on outside (like a noise). I do pray for a home that will allow her to be inside and be part of the family.
She likes to swim. She loves to play and chase balls and now has acquired a passion for tug-of-war. If I try to move anything material - she thinks it's there for her to play with and get. I bought her three balls today - but a good part of them are in the back seat the car. If she has a milk carton, she'll chew that. Her favorite is a hard bone with peanut butter inside of it.
I take her for rides every day. She loves to ride in the car. Today was a special day for her as I went to Costco and got her a new bed. I put it in the back of my Subaru and she immediately took possession of it and rode there. She also got a new handerchief on her neck.
