Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello, everyone! I'm Mara and I am a just-over-a-year-old American Staffordshire terrier. I arrived at a shelter back in October of 2006 and was there until just this week! Things were looking bleak, because there were no adoption prospects for me during my 6 month stay at the shelter, and space became unavailable. I heard some folks saying that I couldn't stay any longer because there was no more room. The shelter staff just loved me, and every day they would beg and plead the rescue coordinators to find me a safe place to go. On the night before my proposed 'last day', a rescue stepped up to help me. I know that far too many dogs don't get the chance I did, so I'm going to try extra, extra hard to make my forever family glad they adopted me! I weigh about 40 pounds, am spayed, up-to-date on my vaccines, and microchipped. I have been found kissing other dogs (well, at least the boy ones!) and I do great with all types of people. I take treats very nicely and am ecstatic to spend even five minutes with my favorite people. My sincere hope is that if you are looking for a canine friend that you will consider me.
