Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Missy is fostered near Madison Wisconsin through United Yorkie Rescue. http://unitedyorkierescue.org
Missy, a 13 year old Yorkie Girl about 11lbs, came to United Yorkie Rescue in March 2016. Her mamma got her as a puppy and she lived her whole life with her, but recently she became unable to take care of her little Missy and contacted United Yorkie Rescue to see if we could take her. She seems to miss her Mamma, but is getting lots of love from Foster Mom and the 'boys' who live with her.
Missy has a clean bill of health, but does have some arthritis, hearing loss and cataracts causing loss of most of her sight. She has a little skin irritation, and does not eat hard kibble, so is being fed a diet of soft healthy whole foods, which should help her skin. She has an enlarged liver, but blood work shows she's fine. Despite bad eyesight, Missy is doing well getting around, she's learned to navigate her foster home and has mastered the transition from house to sidewalk. Missy has never walked on a leash and is not comfortable at this stage in her life with a harness, and with her arthritis and hearing/sight challenges as a senior, we give her that respect and will not force learning, she prefers her naps and cuddles broken up with visits out to the fenced yard. She is largely ignoring the two Yorkies who live in her foster home, but she has taken well to the men in the household. Her prior owner used puppy pads in the house, and Missy is 50/50 on them in the foster home.
Missy will need a quiet home, no small children or young rambunctious dogs, and someone who is home most or all the time. In her retirement years she needs a special person that will look at her age as just a number and shower her with love and devotion. This little darling will melt your heart.
