Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE STATEMENT BELOW AS IT DESCRIBES OUR ADOPTION PROCESS, ADOPTION FEE, AND SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION BEFORE COMPLETING AN ONLINE APPLICATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile, I’d love to meet you. Let me tell you a little bit about adopting me!
Well, the news about me being new to NBS Animal Rescue maybe little now, but someday I'm going to be a BIG star! Hi there! My name is Jameson and I am an 8 week old Great Dane puppy who is deaf. I am a very playful and smart fella who loves to spend time around my people, romping with toys, and learning new things!
As we’re sure you’ll agree – just about everyone who see's me says that I have the softest, floppiest, cutest ears in our rescue. My new friends just love to pet my super soft fur and play with my toys with me.
I am a special needs fella as you may have read above as I am 100% deaf. Don't let that scare you off from contacting my foster mom and dad about meeting me!!!! I am super smart and already know doggy signs, or sign language I think you humans call it. I know the sign for yes, no, sit, down, and shake already! I'm working on learning the sign for go potty, give kisses, come, and stay!
Due to my still being a young fella, the fact that I will one day grow up to be a big and strong fella as an adult, l am looking for a fur-ever home with people who will love me that have a fenced yard, no young children, and someone who either has Great Dane experience, or, previous deaf dog experience. While this adorable fella won't be ready to go home until the end of April - we are accepting adoption applications NOW for this sweetheart.
Other than not being able to hear, I am one amazingly awesome puppy if I do say so myself! I mean, I'm not trying to brag or anything - everyone who meets me says it too, I swear! I am very motivated to learn new things, and I love to be around people and other playful dogs my size. I'm still learning that even though my humans are out of sight, they are indeed coming back to love and care for me - something that all puppies have to learn when they leave their litter mates.
Of course, like most puppies, my favorite past time is chasing toys and exploring new things!I love tennis balls, stuffed toys, ropes and puzzle toys. I would like a home that knows how to play fetch, and can give good belly rubs.
Do you think Jameson is the right boy for you, or someone you know? You can fill out an application at www.NBSAnimalRescue.com . Thank you for considering his special needs, as we know it may take time to find him the right home that can accommodate all of his needs. Even if Jameson is not the dapper man for your home, will you please share his story?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
*Special Need: Deaf
*Requires 100% (non-electric) fenced in yard
*Kids must be 12 + years old
*Experience with deaf dogs OR large breeds is mandatory
* Applicants must live within 3 hours of Detroit
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. If you’d like to meet me, please apply online and to become an approved adopter!
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
While I hope that you have fallen in love with me and are ready to apply, I understand if I might not be the perfect pup for your family just yet. However, would you please help by sharing my picture on Facebook, twitter or by email? I'm a great pup and need a loving family to give all of my love and puppy kisses to! Thank-you for your help!
