MMeet Murphy, a sweet 3 year old boy (DOB 5-11-11). Murphy is a very calm, relaxed boy and he loves to be in your lap or snuggled close. He has undergone extensive testing (Heartworm, CBC, Bile Acids, Electrolytes, Urinalysis, ACTH and Thyroid) it was all negative. By ruling out other medical issues, Murphy was diagnoses with Anti-Diuretic Hormone Deficiency (ADH) and takes Desmopressin hormone injections 1-2 times a day. Although Murphy will be on medication the rest of his life, the prognosis is excellent. (The best way to understand is to compare ADH to Thyroid Deficiency, where a dog takes thyroid pills every day.) All he needs now is lots of love, hugs and play time with other dogs. He is crate trained for when you need to leave the house. Murphy needs to go out every few hours to eliminate and he wears a belly band indoors to keep him from marking.
