My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Travis, a 7-month-old Great Dane/Boxer puppy. Travis was abandoned in an apartment when his family moved away. At 70 lbs. now, he will certainly grow into a big boy, so training is/will be an important part of his life. We suspect he was confined in the home with little socialization with other dogs and not much attention. Despite that, he is a happy, exuberant puppy that likes people and loves cuddles at every opportunity. Travis does know some basic commands, but needs more work on house training, crate training and leash walking. He rarely jumps up on furniture or people and is not generally destructive, but has recently become interested in anything residing on the tops of counters. He is a very smart fellow with great eye contact and is responsive to all sorts of rewards, so the routine puppy obedience training should be a breeze. While Travis is pretty good with other dogs, he is still learning canine speech. He is very excited and noisy when meeting new dogs, but does love playing with them once he settles. He also loves squeaky toys and simply running around a yard. Travis would love an active home with kids and other dogs. He probably wouldn't be good with small children just now given his size and puppyhood. He seems interested in cats, but can be called away from them fairly easily. A family that has the time and the interest in training Travis will find a loving, affectionate and thoroughly entertaining dog to join the family.
