My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toni is an 11 pound Blue and White 8 yr old spayed Italian Greyhound that is shy and quite, and does not bark. She gets along well with spayed/neutered dogs of all sizes and indoor cats, and is most comfortable in the company of another dog, particularly one that she can curl up with. She likes resting in a soft sided dog bed with a blanket over her, or on your lap on the couch. She enjoys gentle rubbing along her cheeks, chest, and tummy. She sleeps in a blanket/bed lined kennel with another small dog, and when her caregiver is away, but does not enjoy car rides very well. Toni does not soil in her kennel or house, and potties on designated 'potty training pads' when not let out, or whines and spins in small circles and stares at you to advise that she needs to be let out to potty. She will wear a sweater during bad weather when outside, and prefers to potty on flat surfaces, cement, or short grass as she has thin hair and her feet get cold quickly. Toni has only her 4 canine teeth, and has had benign mammary tumors removed due to over breeding from a puppy mill. She eats a canned food diet, and wags to advise its time for breakfast, dinner and snack time, and comes when called, though she is shy and submissive; she responds well to praise and joyful voice. Toni enjoys watching/listening to the TV, snuggling with caregiver on the couch, and displays a sweet and very gentle temperament that is eager to please.

Toni had two benign (non-growing) mammory tumors removed from her mammory glands. Delilah, Toni and Tink originally came from the Nebraska Humane Society in December 2007. Their previous owner got them at a dog auction according to the little history that is known about these girls. They have all been spayed and updated on shots so they are just looking for their forever home. Due to neglect at the breeder or possibly a puppy mill all three girls only have their four large canine teeth, and will need a soft food diet, or hard food softened a little before feeding. All three girls have had one or likely more than one litter of puppies in their lives and need a place to show them what being a dog really can be like. Please contact us if you think you can provide one or more of these girls a good home.October 23, 2024, 12:07 am
