Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Abby is fostered in Shiloh IL 62221 through United Yorkie Rescue http://unitedyorkierescue.org. To find out more about Abby, contact her foster mamma at resqdogs2@yahoo.com. Abby is an approx. 3 yr old, 11 lb. Yorkie girl who came to United Yorkie Rescue in March 2016. Abby has had a very rough start in life. She spent the first couple years of her life in a puppy mill with almost no human contact living in a cage, and what contact she did have was likely extremely negative. She then spent some time on the streets before being rescued by the Humane Society where she spent a year waiting for her forever home, however as she's not had the opportunity to learn what being a beloved pet is about, she's been withdrawn. United Yorkie Rescue was contacted by the Humane Society and this is where her 'Happily Ever After' hopefully will start.. Abby needs a forever home who's understanding of her situation, patient, and maybe has another fur baby already to be a companion to her, the only companion type she's ever known. Abby is fearful of humans & being touched, as most mill rescues are & she needs to be on a leash even in the house to force her to spend time near people and learn association and connection to people. This training approach will help avoid scaring her more by needing to chase to catch her. Abby didn't have Potty Training 101, and will need work to learn, and again the understanding from her new family that this could take months. She's not crate trained yet but working on it, and she's learned to walk on a leash and does great! Fortunately she's young and will overcome with time, lots of love and a good home. Since Abby has spent her live either locked in a cage or running, she's a high flight risk and adoption will only be considered to someone with a very securely fenced yard and experience with fearful dogs, and no small children. Again, another dog her size would be greatly beneficial to her growth and development. To complete an application go to: http://unitedyorkierescue.org
