My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Benji became a member of the House of Little Dogs yesterday, and he is such good old boy. He came to us from Fayetteville Animal Services. He was surrendered to the shelter when his elderly owner became ill and could no longer care for him. Benji is nine years old and blind.

But please don’t let his blindness keep you from considering this wonderful dog. Anyone who has ever loved a blind dog will tell you that a blind dog is a dog first and foremost. They will tell you that dogs don’t need sighted eyes to live a normal, healthy and fun life. Blind dogs are trainable, can go on walks, can run and play, and can give love and affection like any other dog.

Benji is a senior, and he has a little arthritis, but he is otherwise a healthy, loving, darling dog who will bring years of joy and companionship to the human lucky enough to adopt him.

Our adoption process is simple. We ask you to complete a one-page application. An interview will then take place in your home. There will be no adoption fee. Donations, though, will be appreciated. Adoptions outside of Northwest Arkansas are not out of the question. We welcome sincere inquiries from anywhere, and we’re happy to work with long-distance applicants.
