Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gigi is now available for adoption through Fur the Love of PAWS Rescue!
Gigi is the little doggie that was involved in the high speed chase of a van, along with two cats. When owners were stopped, Gigi and her cat friends were taken to the shelter for safe keeping until the owners surrendered. We pulled Gigi to ensure she would have the best FOREVER home ever!
Gigi is a 5 year old, spayed female, Poodle Blend. She is current on all vaccines, Heartworm negative, on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and microchipped. She also has had her toofers cleaned! Something to keep in mind, small dogs need regular dental care for overall good health. At only 5 years old, Gigi had to have a few bad teeth pulled, but now she has a healthy mouth and gums for the future.
Gigi been in her foster home for a month now, a little longer than most that we rescue. She had a fear of going outside by herself, and needed help with potty training. She has made huge strides in both areas! We will need her new family to keep working with her. Having said that, Gigi just absolutely loves her people and wants to be with them all the time. She does have separation anxiety so we are looking for a home for her where owners will be home most of the time. She doesn't like it, but it's best for her to be crated if she needs to be left for short periods of time.
We don't believe she's been socialized with other dogs and she's just not quite sure what to do. She would do best as an only dog. She is good with cats, and older kids only. Gigi can have a little attitude and if she doesn't want picked up or messed with she will let you know it, in a little dog kind of way.
Another thing about Gigi is, she can jump higher than any little dog we've ever seen! She'll jump right up into your arms for lovin's, or right on to your dinner table if your not watching.
😜
She's definitely used to eating people food which is not good (possibly why her teeth were in the shape they were, dog food is important for their teeth and their health) and foster Mom and Dad have also been working with her on this. She's just a little love bug who wants to love you and be loved!
Gigi will also need regular professional grooming because of her coat. Please keep in mind that regular brushing between grooms is very important for her coat type. She was very matted when we rescued her and she doesn't want that to happen again!
We are requiring a secure fenced yard and if you have chain link she needs to be monitored closely because she can climb it! She is being fostered in North Platte, NE. Her adopttion fee is $75, must have an approved app before meet and greet. For more info please call Jessica Sprague @ 308-539-0277 or message the page for an adopt app.
If you can't adopt, please share! Thanks!
