Meet Silas!
Silas is a sweet, playful and handsome young dog looking for the perfect home. This dashing boy is about one year old and very healthy.
Mr. Silas is a mixed breed pup who weighs 45 pounds, with lanky legs and the shiniest coat. He loves dog friends, bully sticks, and long romps at the dog park. He plays perfectly with dogs of all sizes, and adapts his play well to suit other pup’s play styles.
He is extremely trest motivated and loves training – he has has a fantastic training base as his humans have put a lot of time into working with him. He walks beautifully on the leash and has pretty good recall.
Silas currently lives in Oakland with his humans who adore him – but the urban lifestyle doesn’t sit well with Silas. His people have tried everything to make it work, but he just isn’t a city boy and in collaboration with a trainer, it was decided that his quality of life would improve if he lived out of the city. A rural area or even a suburban setting with a nice yard. He’s uncertain around new people and children, and the city is full of those things—there is never a quiet moment in the heart of Oakland. It takes him a bit of time to gain trust with new people – but once you’re in the in crowd with Silas – you’re in! He’s so sweet with the humans he knows and trusts—an absolute cuddle bug and goofball extraordinaire. We think Silas would do best being rehomed to a more rural area with a yard and another dog to play with and calm him – he picks up on other dog’s cues enormously well and responds more calmly to new things with another dog around. Silas should go to a home without kids or cats, and to people with time and patience.
