Meet Radar! This sweet and unique looking pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas by a wonderful sponsor who has cared for him since his arrival into rescue. How anyone could give up this fun loving guy, we’re not sure, but we know we will find him an awesome family who enjoys his company as much as we do!
Radar is a basset/Staffordshire terrier mix who is estimated to be around 1-2 years of age and currently weighs in at 50 lbs. He is a medium sized pup, who though has short stature, has loads of personality to make up for it! Radar is an active, playful pup who enjoys being outdoors and playing with his toys! The moment his feet hit the grass, there is usually not much time before he has a ball or even a rope toy in his mouth. He loves to play fetch, and will cheerfully bring you the ball back to continue the game, but don't be surprised if you find him in a corner afterwards chewing it to pieces! He enjoys the company of other dogs and has really never met a stranger both human and canine alike. He would do best with a dog that could keep up with his current energy!
Radar is extremely sweet and friendly to all the people he meets, and would do wonderful with children of all ages. Because he is so playful, he would make a great family pet for a household of any size. He has been through two training courses since his arrival to our rescue, as is standard for most of our dogs and has come out learning quite a bit, though on rare occasions he pretends to forget!
Radar goes on frequent outting's with other families who volunteer and he does great in their household with their dogs and routine. He goes out to the pet stores and dog parks, meets other dogs and people and seems to do well with his handler. He can be a bit obsessive about the toys, and a tennis ball is his holy grail, but these are great motivator's for continuing his training that he has already been through!
Radar is crate trained, leash trained, housebroken, and knows his basics likes sit, heel, stay, down, and sometimes he will even do shake! He enjoys adventurous walks through the parks, so any hiking, biking or trailing would do great for this boy! Because he is so smart and already advanced through two stages of training, he would make a great agility pup for someone! Radar is looking for someone who will love him unconditionally, play with him, and cuddle up at night.
Radar is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and current on monthly preventions for both fleas and ticks. He is available for adoption, for more information please contact us at KMCRescue@Gmail.com.
