Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Bailey is currently being fostered in Houston and is available for out-of-state adoption. Her adoption fee is $500, which covers her flight, a new kennel, and of course she is fully vetted and healthy. Meeting her prior to adoption is unfortunately not possible.**
Bailey came to us after a desperate plea was put out on Facebook to save this beautiful girl’s life from a high kill shelter where she had been dumped by her family. They didn’t want to let her live in the house with them, so she was left in the backyard with little interaction or stimulation. The curiosity inherent with her breed got the best of her and she started getting out of the yard and roaming the neighborhood. Her family was issued a ticket for not keeping her contained and instead of paying it, elected instead to surrender her to be euthanized.
We got the plea literally in the 11th hour, because of her amazingly sweet nature, the shelter staff gave her a reprieve from being put to sleep through the weekend to see if she would get adopted or if a rescue would find a place to take her in. We got a tag on her to save her life at 4pm on Sunday and she was due to be put down when the shelter opened at 7am Monday. Upon meeting her, we knew she was what we love to call a jackpot dog! A dog that is friendly, loving, has a great energy level and that will make any family the perfect companion dog.
Bailey is a 1-year old Border Collie mix, she is around 45 pounds and we do not think she will grow any bigger. She has (the shiniest) longer fur, she does not have a thick undercoat, but she will need a good occasional brushing to keep her from shedding heavily. She is very healthy, spayed, heartworm negative, and we have dewormed her. Having been abandoned by her family, she is a little shy at first, but with some loving pats and some treats, she warms up quickly.
Bailey is very good with other dogs and would love a dog sibling to run and play with! She currently lives with a foster family that has a few dogs her size and she has gone to doggy day care a few times where she has been in a pack of up to 20 dogs. She takes a minute to warm up, but once she realizes the other dogs are friends, she will run and play like there is no tomorrow. Bailey is a medium energy dog, with the proper exercise, she is very calm in the house and will often lay in her foster mom’s office while she works. Bailey is also kennel trained and we would advocate that her new family provide the safety of her kennel to her when she is unsupervised, at least until she gets acclimated to her new home.
Because of her history of escaping the yard when unattended for long periods of time, we require, as we do with all of our dogs, that Bailey be kept in the house when her family is not home (for example, at work) because it is possible that her curiosity will get the best of her and she will go for another walk-about. She will be fine playing outside when her family is home.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application. This can be found on our website by hovering over the “Adoptables” tab. The application can be filled out online, but does not work well with iPads or on cell phones.
