Thanks for choosing rescue! Snowball is a brilliant dog! She completed her AKC Good Citizen Certificate last week and she is on her way to possibly becoming a therapy dog. She is very loyal and loving. She was seized from the White County Shelter in TN for cruelty and neglect with Daisy. Frank a good samaritan to rescue and the dogs of TN fostered Snowball and Daisy while they both went through heartworm treatment. When Snowball was first rescued, everyone thought she was a Siberian Husky. Now that she has gained weight and is all healthy, we believe she is a Kisha Inu. One of our board members has owned this Japanese breed in the past and Snowball matches all the characteristics of the Kishu breed, which is the oldest dog breed in Japan. Snowball is housebroken, no need for a crate because she is past the puppy stage and is non-destructive. She does great in her foster home with a dog door. It would be hard to find a sweeter and more gracious dog. She is just a sweetpie and now needs her own forever home. Snowball is great with children of all ages and dogs of all sizes. She walks right beside you on a walk, no pulling. ⺠She would make someone very lucky to be owned by her!
All of our rescues are temperament tested around children of all ages, small and large dogs and cats. They all have basic training, IE; sit; down, come and walking on a lead. We are not a shelter, we are a rescue and all of our rescued dogs are kept in individual foster/volunteers homes. This gives them sometimes their first taste of having a family and being part of that family. Also, it provides us with the understanding of each individual rescue to match them to your family lifestyle and dynamics. As soon as we receive your application back, we will phone you to set up a home visit/meet & greet. If you are out of our area, we would request another rescue and/or veterinary office complete the home visit.
All of the vetting below is completed prior to adoptions. Also, completed prior to adoptions are heartworm treaments as needed, any medical conditions treated (IE; allergies, demedex, etc.) and any surgeries for dogs coming into the rescue injured (IE; car accidents, etc.). Below is the vetting that all of our rescues receive prior to adoption. We only pull dogs from shelters and approximately 80% of our rescues come into the rescue heartworm positive. Those rescues are treated for heartworms prior to adoption.

I have attached an application if you would like to start the application process. Or you can go to our Petango page and fill out the application there; http://www.petango.com/hoganshuskyheroes. We do complete home visits prior to being approved. They are not designed to turn adopters down, but to point out safety issues for this breed. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
