Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Brunson is currently being fostered in HOUSTON. His adoption fee is $300 and he is fully vetted.**
Brunson’s foster mom was actually at the local pound to pick up another dog and decided to take a trip around to look for mangy babies. She is one of our medical fosters & likes to save the most unwanted souls she can find. She came across Brunson in the last kennel & he was in pretty bad shape. His kennel tag showed that he was an owner surrender and had mange. He was shut down and balled upon on the cold concrete floor. He wouldn’t even acknowledge that someone was outside of his kennel trying to get his attention. His foster mom decided to go in to the kennel with him to see how bad he really was. Once she was in the kennel and was able to pet him, he lifted his head but was still very depressed. She tried to get him up onto the Karunda bed that was in his kennel but he wasn’t interested. This was when she realized he had an injured hind leg. He had mange, a non-contagious skin condition, so badly that he was without any hair. He had a broken hip and a broken soul, but his foster mom had faith and knew he would become a handsome boy in a short time. She knew that someone had given up on him and he was giving up on himself and she couldn’t let this happen, so off he went to start the beginning of his new happy healthy life!
This amazing guy is about 2 years old and weighs about 65 pounds and is full grown. We think he is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He loves to run and play with dogs of all sizes and even tolerates puppies that nip and play rough. He sleeps like an angel on a comfy bed in his crate. He absolutely loves dog beds so he also has one outside. He is crate trained, walks well on a leash, rides well in a car, and knows sit. He lives with an 8 year old boy and does great with kids. He loves everyone he meets!
He is currently recovering from hip surgery. He had an FHO on February 1st, but he is doing well and should be ready to go to his forever home by the end of March.
Some of the pictures we have posted are of him before his hair grew back in. These also show how good he is with his best buddy regardless of size. Brunson will need to stay on a kibble that is a grain free fish diet. This seemed to help clear up his skin issues the best so he may very well have an allergy to chicken. He has been eating Victor’s Grain Free Yukon River Salmon & Sweet Potato food.
Brunson will make an amazing companion and family member to his forever home. Is that home yours? He truly was a diamond in the rough and has one of the best temperaments his foster mom has ever dealt with. She would really love to keep him herself but that would mean less room to save other lives like Brunson.
Brunson is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and doing very well in his foster home. He is ready to find his family to complete his transformation. If our sweet guy sounds like a perfect match for your family, please fill out the application by visiting our website, www.reggiesfriends.org, under the Adoptables tab or email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org for more information. His adoption fee is $300.
