More About Dottie
MARCH 15, 20101- Dotties Story I was only two weeks old when my six littermates and I were discovered tucked into the pockets of cargo shorts and discarded in a trash bag by the side of the road. A family was curious about what could be in the bag, and they rescued us. They werent sure how to care for seven puppies whose eyes werent even open, so they took us to a veterinary clinic. Despite all the best efforts, only my sister Sammie and I survived. Im sure you can tell by looking at me why I was named Dottie. The family that found us adopted Sammie. I have been fostered by a single young woman who works at the veterinary clinic. I know she loves me, but she doesnt have the time to teach me all the manners I need to be the best dog I can or a yard for me to run around in and burn off all my energy. She knows it would be best for me if I can find a family who can provide patience, love, training and a fenced yard. I guess its obvious that Im a hound/beagle mix. There might even be some Whippet, because of my long legs and slender build, and I can run like the wind! I weigh about 25 pounds and they say I probably wont get much bigger. Im working on basic commands like sit and down. I am doing well with my crate training as long as I don't have to 'hold' it too long! I love other dogs that like to play with an active girl like me. I love kids, too, but might be too active and rompy for small children. I am curious about cats but I dont know how to approach them. Ive been told Id make an excellent agility dog, because I am so quick and jump so high. For more info on how to adopt Dottie, please send an email to: catbugno1@comcast.net, or call 904/673-5813.
