Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Beau came to us after his owner passed away at home. He came with a big brother (Bear) but is not 100% bonded and they don't have to go to the same home as they can learn to be independent of each other. Beau however would do best with another dog - he is blind and has been blind since birth according to what we know. He does very well despite being blind, he learned our household in less than 24 hours of exploring his new area. Stairs are a problem. He won't go up them yet, though he may be able to learn to do so - falling down them in a huge risk to him so leashed intervention with stairs is a must. Homes with stairs will need gating to protect from such indoors. Outdoors, we would expect that this would not be an issue unless you have a deck or high porch. He can manage one or two stairs without much concern but anything taller than him, is indeed a risk.
He is house trained, gentle and loyal. He does recognize his people and takes a minute to take in the smell of new folks, but has never been anything but a big sweet heart. He seems to be dog friendly with all dogs he's met, but caution has to be taken on introduction as he can't see what's coming at him and does not enjoy rough or fast play. A senior dog would be his best friend. He is not overly interested in cats and is fine with children, but being blind may bump into toddler age and knock them over accidentally (haven't seen him do so as his nose if very good) but of course it could be possible.
He is not yet neutered, but will be before adoption. His adoption fee is $300 which includes all vaccination being up to date, being heartworm tested, microchipped and of course, neutered.
