My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cookie has spent her life in a laundry room in the house of someone who had no use, and no love, for her. Rescued by a good samaritan who was made aware of her situation, Cookie was terrified - she'd scream in fear, not sure of her next encounter. Within days she realized that not all humans were cruel and she gratefully accepted the love she never had. While being so frightened of men, she learned the loving touch of her rescuer. She was fearful of grooming, but our second attempt resulted in a much more cooperative Cookie (thank you, Mari's Grooming in Manahawkin, for your kind touch). Today in her foster home, Cookie is just one of the pack, trusting her foster family and opening herself up to what life has to offer. Cookie is happy to snuggle, to shadow you, and to paw you for the attention she never had. She walks well on a leash, is crate trained, and except for a few reminders, she's housetrained too. She is up to date on vaccinations and will be spayed by this rescue. All of about ten pounds, Cookie would be happy as the only dog or with other canine companions. Only older, respectful kids, please, because of her size. Do you think you would be a good match for Cookie?
