Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Miley has won the heart of her foster mom. If mom wasn't in the business of dog rescue, Miley would have a permanent home already. But as any good rescuer knows, we can only help so many if we keep all that come through our doors.
That just goes to show you how special Miley is. She is a loving, calm, cuddly girl that can be silly and playful too. She is only around 8 lbs but looks bigger because of her long, fluffy hair.
The pictures does not do Miley justice; she is gorgeous in person and the camera just doesn't capture that!
Miley is good with other dogs, is crate trained and house trained. She goes straight outside when she comes out of her crate and understands to go in her crate for meals and at bed time.
Miley can be a bit stand-offish when she meets you, but that's just being Miley - hard to get! Once she warms up to you, you will have a companion for life! She is gentle and easy to care for.
Miley's previous homes knew that she had seizures, but let her "work through it." However with her kind of seizures, that should never have been the case. She is now on medicine for her seizures and they are coming under control very nicely! She now has less in a week what she used to have in a day! We aim to get them down to zero through medication. The monthly cost of her medicine is less than a bag of dog food - very inexpensive! Other than making sure she gets her meds on time each day, there is nothing more to do. Her foster mom can tell you all about it and how to deal with it so do not let any of that scare you!!
Please email for an adoption application (Microsoft Word format).
Prior to adoptions, all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age appropriate), heartworm tested, microchipped and are kept up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
Adoption fees are $300 for dogs up to 8 years of age and $200 for 8+ years.
SOMAD is a private, all volunteer, foster-home based rescue group. Please be patient as we answer your inquiries; we do our best to answer emails within a day, however volume and regular life schedules sometimes delay us.
