My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brady was born in Nov 2015. His mom is a Chihuahua and his daddy was a one night stand that did not leave an forwarding address. Faced to raise 4 puppies on her own, mom sought out the safety of the local shelter to help care for her pups. Thankfully the good people at the shelter not only took good care of mom, they found a foster for the family to stay with so mom would live the good life not having to worry about raising a family and her own survival.

Once Brady was old enough to be on his own, he came to our rescue group. His previous foster mom with the shelter did a magnificent job in socializing, physically caring for him and giving him the love and praise that he needed to start life.

Brady is 15 lbs and probably won't get any bigger, He tries to play with every dog he meets and relishes in the attention and petting he gets from humans. We haven't found anything he isn't afraid of around the home, but new places get a very conservative reaction from him.

We hope for a home with another playful dog for him as he is learning his puppy play boundaries through the teachings of other, more experience canines. As well, since he loves to play SO much, we fear that he will find/create trouble if he doesn't have an equally active & playful pup. This little guy won't be satisfied with one play session in the AM and one in the PM; if he's awake, he wants to play. A calm, quiet, lazy household may get irritated at such an active little guy.

If you think Brady may be the right one for your family, please email to donnanjames@comcast.net. He is currently fostered in Chattanooga, but a meet and greet can be arranged in the Atlanta area.

Please email for an adoption application (Microsoft Word format).

Prior to adoptions, all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age appropriate), heartworm tested, microchipped and are kept up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.

Adoption fees are $300 for dogs up to 8 years of age and $200 for 8+ years.

SOMAD is a private, all volunteer, foster-home based rescue group. Please be patient as we answer your inquiries; we do our best to answer emails within a day, however volume and regular life schedules sometimes delay us.
