My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We were called about 2 dogs on the side of the road, one being deceased and the other in poor condition. Our Officer went out and scanned both dogs, but neither had a microchip. Chanel (A201529) was nothing but skin and bones, had diarrhea when she came in and what appeared to be blood in her urine. A by stander at the time showed interest and wanted to adopt. We did contact the interested person, but though their heart was in the right place we wanted to make sure they understood that Chanel seemed to be in pain and needed more medical attention than we could completely provide. When it came time for Chanel to be picked up we could never get back in touch with the interested person. By this time Chanel had won the hearts of some staff members and was become friendlier and friendlier with them. Chanel take a while to warm up to someone, but becomes pretty attached once she does get used to someone. She came in at right under 38 lbs and seems to be gaining weight now. Her diarrhea has stopped even though we had still noticed blood in her urine. Now though we have not seen blood in her urine (our vet thinks it could have been from being in heat, but always the possibility it is something more). She also now gets walked outside by her favorite staff members so it could have been a bladder infection from holding her urine as long as she could. Those who have become attached to Chanel have seen how much she has improved and really hope there is a rescue that will give her a chance!
