Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What is your name?
Hiya! My name is Amos…but sometimes my foster mom calls me “Chunkers”.
I’m working on losing some holiday weight…I mean, aren’t we all?
How old are you?
I am about 4 months old! My birthday is probably mid-October – November
2015.
What do you look like?
I have chocolatey brown fur with a little white patch on my chest. I have the
most gorgeous green eyes and big, clunky paws!
What do you like to eat?
My foster mom has been feeding me Fromm’s puppy food and I love it!
Sometimes when I’m in my kennel, I like to chew on frozen peanut butter filled
Kong’s or bones. It keeps me occupied while I’m chilling.
What kind of personality do you have?
My foster mom thinks I’m just about the sweetest thing there ever was and
always squeezes my wrinkly face when she kisses my nose. I am really very
calm (for a puppy) and I’m ALWAYS happy. I haven’t met a dog or human yet
that I don’t like and everyone who meets me falls in love, at least that’s what I
overhear my foster mom say.
Describe your perfect day:
I love to go to my foster moms work and hang out whenever I can! Since I’m
very quiet and respectful, I just lie around and chew my bone or play with my
rope ball while she works…then I go in my kennel for naptime. At home, I love
to play with my foster siblings (both dogs and kids) and snuggle with my
foster mom any chance I get. Snuggling’s my favorite.
What is your favorite toy?
I LOVE to chew on all my toys and really love frozen bones or Kong’s with
peanut butter inside. I also like to show off my squeaky toy by strutting
around the house with it in my mouth.
Do you know any tricks?
I am doing very well with “sit” and I’m learning to go to the door when I need to
potty. Considering this is my first time living inside, I’m doing very well with my
training. I do wonderfully with stairs and pretty well on a leash too!
What scares you?
I’m not fond of the vacuum at the moment. The loud noise make me a little
scared, but I’m sure with time I will get used to it.
Do you like cats?
I haven't had experience with cats yet, but I would be curious to learn more
about them! I’m a pretty chill guy, so I’m sure I’d LOVE THEM!
Do you have any doggie best friends?
My best dog buddy at my foster house is my foster sister, Mavis. We both
love to run around in the yard and she has taught me what it’s like to have a
happy, loving family to live with. We have snuggle time every night before I go
into my kennel for bedtime.
If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere I have a soft, warm bed to lie on and a loving human to raise me is
where I would like to be. I really am a very happy and sweet boy and I can’t
wait to find my forever home!
How is your health?
Overall, I am in great health! I had to take some medicine for worms when I
came to Even Chance but I’m all finished with it and I am so thankful for Dr.
Johnson at WestSide Animal Hospital for taking great care of me.
Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I share a home with two adult humans, one human toddler sister, one human
school age sister and several foster brother & sister dogs. I love it here
because I’m getting the structure, stability and training I need to be able to
live in a healthy home environment.
Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
When I am the only one in the house, my foster family puts me in my crate. I
LOVE my crate because I know I will get a frozen peanut butter filled Kong or
bone when they leave. I feel safe in my crate.
Where do you sleep?
I sleep in my crate in my foster mom’s room. I don’t mind sleeping in my crate
because it is filled with plenty of warm blankets and I can look up and see my
foster mom if I need some comfort.
What do you love about your foster family?
I love Even Chance and my foster family for taking me in and teaching me how
to be a happy, healthy pup! When I arrived, I wasn’t so sure about indoor life. I
was scared, dirty and in need of lots of attention. I didn’t even know how to
eat out of a bowl! I’m very happy that I’m learning the proper manners I will
need to thrive in a home setting!
What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into
the welcoming arms of your foster parents?
My sister, Daisy, and I are from IL and were signed over to Even Chance. Our
dad wound up not being able to care for us due to health concerns so he
gave us to EC in hopes that they could help us find good homes. I am so
grateful to him for calling Even Chance and giving me a real shot at a happy
life with a new wonderful family!
Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most
cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our
dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior
to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as
they grow up. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog
to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are
in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the
best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make
when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the
perfect pit bull for you and your family and you are interested in giving me a
forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application here and my
foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We
look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.
