Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Milo is currently being fostered in Houston. He is available for out-of-state adoption to the perfect forever family! Milo’s adoption fee is $500, which covers his transport, kennel, and vet care appropriate to his age. He is not old enough to be neutered, so his new family will sign a neuter contract and will be responsible for the cost of his neuter once the vet says he is old enough.**
When Milo’s photo popped up on a Facebook thread, we knew we had to get our hands on this fluffy baby bear. He was found wandering the streets of Houston as a stray, with no signs of an owner. As soon as he could be released from the shelter, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on him!
We believe that Milo is a sheepdog / husky mix of some sort – while we are not entirely sure on his breed mix, what we are sure of is that he is the happiest, most loving, most amazing little puppy man ever! He is snuggly, playful, adventurous, and very sweet. We anticipate that Milo will be a very big boy, as he has already grown nearly 7 pounds in just two weeks – we think his new family should plan for a dog that could hit the 75-80pound range.
Milo is a lover of all things – he has been very well socialized with dogs of all sizes. He currently lives in a foster home with a 5 pound Chihuahua up through an 80-pound American Bulldog. He has also met some kitties, and while interested, he was not aggressive with them. He may, however, chase a kitty in an attempt to play.
Milo’s very favorite thing to do is play, and play, and play, then come in for a good snuggle. Milo loves water and would make an excellent partner for a family interested in outdoor activities. Milo would be well suited for an active lifestyle where he can get the exercise a big dog like he is going to be needs and deserves. We think Milo would do fine as an only dog, but he would also love to have a doggy sibling (or two) as he really does love to play!
Milo is currently around 12 weeks old, so he will need a family that realizes he is still very puppy in his behavior and he needs patience and guidance to help him become an amazing adult dog. He is working hard on his potty training, but still has accidents in the house, he is not super fond of his leash, but is learning, he does do very well sleeping in his kennel at night and will wake you up to go potty.
Milo will be available to fly home to his forever family on February 13th, following his second vaccination booster. His adoptive family would be responsible for getting him a 3rd booster vaccination three weeks after his arrival and for the expenses involved with his rabies vaccination and neuter once he is old enough.
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an application which can be found on our website www.reggiesfriends.org. If you hover over the “adoptables” tab, the application will appear for you. Our team processes applications within 3 business days of receipt and we can usually have adoptions finalized within 7-10 days. Adopters should be in a position to pay the adoption fee and take possession of the dog within 14 days of application.
If you have questions about Milo, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org.
