Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LEDA is a 5 year old spayed chocolate female Lab who weighs 70 pounds. She is a sweet girl who ended up at a local shelter and no one came looking for her. She was in good shape, healthy and we found already spayed so someone loved her at some point but did not come for her. She doesn't mind and she knows she is in a good place now. She is friendly and bouncy and loves attention! Leda is good on leash and a good rider. she is keeping her room clean at the vet. She is good with other dogs but prefers ones that are no so in her face as she is kind of awkward and unsure how to take that. No cat history but no negative reaction to seeing the vet kitties so far. NOTE: Leda comes from the country (suburbs) and has no exposure to big cities. Placement is limited to single family stand-alone homes in a suburban neighborhood, or rural area.
No kid history. Leda is approved for kids ages 10+
Update:: Leda is a sweet, sensitive girl who enjoys a calm, loving environment. She is crate trained, but does not need it as she has wonderful house manners. She is friendly and affectionate and loves nothing more than to just hang out and relax with her peeps. She loves to go for walks. She is good with other dogs, but needs slow, controlled introductions as she gets nervous if dogs rush into her face. She is well behaved and her foster says she is the sweetest! Looking for love in Midlothian, VA.
Update:: Leda has settled in at her fosters and is back to her calm, laid back self. She will need a calm household as lots of commotion and noise make her nervous. She is wonderful in the house, does not need to be crated and just likes to hang out and be with her people. She is OK with other dogs, but needs slow controlled introductions as too fast scares her. She is wonderful on leash. She can be a little reactive but we are working with her and she is improving daily. She had a vet visit this week and was a super good girl with no reactions to the other dogs in the lobby and even met a few of them nose to nose and did well as long as approached slowly. This sweet, calm, shy girl is looking for a furever family to help her continue to grow and gain confidence!
