WHY THIS BOY IS IN NEED? This guy came in to the rescue's care Jan 11th and went right to vet to be fixed - he is now neutered, vaccinated with combo, lepto, rabies, dewormed, and microchipped - if he is in our care four weeks after the initial vetting he will get the combo and lepto booster and be rewormed
WHERE IS HE NOW ? - Fostered near Teeswater - likes the kids
Update - owner has verified this dog is 1 yr old and is a rotti and hound mix

Is this animal a house pet? Yes
Is the animal house-trained? Working on it
Does the animal ever have house-training issues? Yes
How do you handle house-training errors? Take him outside
Is the animal crate trained? Yes
How is the pet contained if not crated ? N/A
Does the animal chew or scratch household items? No however he likes to chew wood that is up to go in the wood stove. We remove the wood from him as we don't want him to get splinters.
Does it get into the garbage? If given the opportunity, yes
YARD INFO:
Does the animal dig holes? Unknown (winter)
is he respectful of the fencing- No fences
Is the pet an excessive barker ? or just alerting to things? He barks to alert.
EXPOSURE INFO:
What ages of children was it living with? 4 years old and one under one
How does the pet react to kids at a distance/ on leash ?Reaction ? He LOVES the kids. I completely trust him with my children. He gets excited when the oldest returns home off the school bus and loves to wake the youngest up. Gets a little sad when they are removed from the house. They are his buddies.
Is it good with cats? reaction?- on/off leash ? Reaction? Unknown however showed an interest in hens so I would use caution. I think he's more interested than anything.
Does it chase after cars, or horses and buggies or bikes or people? No. He chases the horses in my own back yard but has never chased after the horse and buggies that regularly pass my house.
Does the dog ride well in the car? Yes
Has it been exposed to livestock or horses? Yes.
OBEDIENCE / TRAINING :
Does the dog play games? Knows to sit, shake a paw and is learning to lay down
Does it walk well on leash? Or pull etc? Pulls on leash
PERSONALITY/ BEHAVIOURS/ :
** Please be detailed in these questions. No Blanket answers of “Yes/ Sometimes” .We need detailed info to know how best if rescue can help and what the pets needs are for re-training etc .Without this we can not consider , possibly approve or place any dog into foster care” **
Would you say your pet is a stable, well mannered, pet ? Absolutely well mannered
Has the animal ever shown aggression to anyone or anything? No.
Is there any separation issues? No
Are there any fears? No
ROUTINE:
Where is the animal kept during the day? With me unless I'm away which he goes in his crate.
Where is it kept at night? Crate but would love to be in bed with his humans
How long is this animal generally left alone in a day? a couple hours max
Is it ever kept outside, and if so, for how long? Just to do his business or to do chores with me which generally takes about 15 minutes to an hour.
Is it used to being chained or kenneled or running free? Runs free on my property.
How much per day? 2 bowls per day
Is it used to bottled water? No
Please provide this pets current routine:
Duke gets let out of his crate first thing in the morning and taken outside to do his business. Comes in to be fed, back outside on leash to take daughter to the school bus and is let free once bus is gone. Does chores unleashed with me and comes back in. He is let out every few hours to do his business generally off leash, does night chores off leash, eats dinner with us around 6pm. He is let out one last time before bed and crated.

Pets should never be euthanized by their owners simply based on financial consideration when something goes wrong.

It can be completed, saved and emailed back to the rescue at
petrescue@hurontel.on.ca .
1. We require a fully filled app to be considered as a possible home
2. Only the approved app will be premitted a viewing with the pet ** in the foster home **
3. ALL family members MUST meet the dog ** in the foser home** .
4. Any exsisting pets MUST attend the meet/ greet with the dog ** at the foster home ** .
5. A home visit must be completed as part of the adoption process after the inital viewing by a rescue representative.
This is not a replacement of the meet/ greet at the Foster home.
6. We do not adopt outside of ONTARIO .
7. We do not deliver dogs. If and once the adoption process is approved and complete the dog must be picked up at the
foster home
