Here's what the humans have to say about me:
(We adopt to Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana only)
We'd prefer adopters with previous Yorkie experience.
Mia's owner passed away and none of her family are able to care for her because Mia need a specific kind of home. She attaches incredibly hard to one person and will nip at strangers if given the chance. Mia barks at new people entering her home and cats, though is getting better about that. She lives fine with other dogs but any other dogs in the home would need to have a compatible personality, as Mia can be bossy. She has lots of terrier qualities.
Mia is VERY smart, and needs outlets for her energy and mental stimulation. She is a diva. She is a teeny dog but her personality does not match her looks, she definitely has small dog syndrome.
Mia has the look everyone seems to want, and the personality few appreciate. Spitfire is a good word to describe Mia. She needs a new Mom or Dad who can laugh at her diva-tude and enjoy it. She repays your love with complete devotion and love.
Mia is used to being crated when her foster Mom is out of the house, but will bark continually if you try to crate her while you're home. She is potty trained but will have accidents if you don't catch her signals that she needs out. She has a teeny bladder and goes outside frequently.
If you've gotten this far in the description of Mia, congrats, you may be up for a rewarding challenge! Mia will be a wonderful, loving little devoted companion for the right person.
Mia is about 6 years old and is 6 pounds. She is fully vetted, spayed, had a dental and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350.

Happy Tails Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foster-based rescue based in Munster, Indiana. We have no shelter, all of our animals are cared for in loving foster homes until their forever home match is found. All of our animals are fully vetted before adoption, including distemper, rabies, and bordatella vaccines, a heartworm test, fecal test, microchip, and are spayed/neutered. Adoption fees range from $150-$350. If you're interested in meeting one of our animals please fill out an application first. If approved we will then arrange a meet and greet. Happy Tails does not do same day adoptions because we do a short home visit to make sure our animals are being placed in safe environments.
