Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*** 2/6/16 - ADOPTION PENDING! ***
Meet Maggie! Maggie is a lovely 8 year old female, tricolor, border collie. She is needing a new home because her owner went back to school and could not take Maggie with her.
Maggie lost an eye in a terrible accident years ago. Her owner did not hesitate to take Maggie to the emergency vet for care, but they could not save her right eye. So Maggie adjusted!
Maggie is okay with other dogs and is okay with cats, too. She is not a dominant dog, but does have one area where she has issues. She is food aggressive towards other dogs and must be fed separately so she doesn't have to worry about protecting her meal. We are told that a human can reach in and take her food away and she allows that. Maggie does not go and try to take food from other dogs in the household. She only protects her own bowl.
She has been around children age 8 years and older. Maggie loves to go for rides, but her favorite thing of all is to fetch! She is a fairly high energy dog and this is a great way to provide exercise for her. Maggie also loves to go for walks and go exploring. She is pretty good on leash, but does like to get out ahead.
Maggie is a little overweight at this time. We are estimating her weight at about 50 pounds. She has always seemed to prefer being outside so has never really lived indoors and is not considered housetrained. She was crate trained when younger and will still kennel up when asked. When left out in the yard, Maggie will bark at people or dogs walking by, but when you ask her to stop...she does.
This is a happy dog that will need daily exercise and loves attention.
Maggie's adoption fee is $150. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped.
