My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Florence… a 4-year-old adorable black poodle. You may think I look a bit like a teddy bear, which very much describes my personality and what I’m looking for in a PAWmate. I’m a total cuddle bug and LOVE your attention whenever and wherever I can get it! It’s comforting to me to have you nearby and I hope you feel the same… you know, just petting a buddy lowers stress! I’m the type who’s not going to give you much personal space because when I fall, I fall hard and have so much love (ahem, unconditional love!) to give… I just want to be with you and thisclose all, or at least most of the time. One reason I can’t get enough of you is probably because my life before now was drastically different and I received little care and attention… if you can believe it, I was 17 pounds overweight when I was rescued and could barely walk. Since being treated for hypothyroidism I’ve lost nearly all the weight and feel like a new pup! I doubt you’d recognize me from before… I had dreadlocks and brittle hair – actually, I had no hair on my behind (but I do now… no pun intended lol!). I even walked in circles for the first few days because I had been penned up for so long. Needless to say, I have a new vigor for life and will take all the love I can get. I’m quite talkative about it too! If you know anything about poodles, then you must know we often have much to say… you can trust I won’t hold back to let you know how I’m feeling or if I want to play with one of my fave squeaky toys! So if you’re looking for a BFF life-companion who’s really sweet and funny and still finding her bearings, then I’m the one for you!!
