Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Estimated Birthday: Sep 07
Estimated Adult Weight: 125 (once she fills out; she's still very thin and around 110 lbs.)
Hi, I'm Sophia, and I'm in rescue because one of our foster moms couldn't stand to see me bouncing around Craigslist. I originally belonged to a breeder who seemed to really care for me, but her brood female didn't, so I had to go. I apparently haven't had a lot of human interaction as I'm still a bit skittish, or maybe it's because I've already been in at least 4 different homes (the average dog posted on CL is in and out of 5 homes before finding its forever home or winding up in a shelter or rescue) but I very much want to be loved and petted. I will jump up on the gate and bark VERY loudly to get your attention when I've been outside and want back in, so I'm probably not the best choice for a small yard in the city unless you have VERY understanding neighbors. I sometimes get picked on by other dogs but probably wouldn't be happy as an 'only' unless someone was home with me most of the time. I'm also used to being crated, so crating or gating is highly recommended until I get settled in my new home. Oh, and did I tell you I'm drop dead gorgeous? I'm a blue merle with mantle markings (e.g., I have a mostly blue merle coat but white feet, tip of tail, chest, and neck markings). My adoption fee is $250as danes are expensive to vet, but I'm worth it -- please let me foster mom know if I'm the girl for you (due to my shyness, my foster mom thinks I really need to go to someone with previous dane experience who will be patient in working with me, and I am also very active -- dancing and prancing around -- so I will need someone strong enough to lead me gently but firmly; however, I CANNOT be grabbed by the collar as I will snap at you if I'm afraid you're going to hurt me -- for this reason my foster mom does not recommend I be around children).
