I’m Sprinkles, I’m an AKC registered purebred English Mastiff spayed female, and I need a new forever family.
My birthdate is 7 Nov 07, and my estimated adult weight is 140 lbs + (I’m 120 lbs. + right now, and I may still put on weight for another year or so.)
My owner has a degenerative health condition that doesn’t allow her take care of and train me like she feels I need anymore, so I’ve been placed in rescue. Unfortunately, I have a bit too much prey drive to do well with all the small critters here (anything under 25 lbs.), so I’ll need a home with only larger dogs, and I’d probably do best with a male large breed buddy as a playmate. I’m not aggressive – just too playful and rough for the little ones. I have never been an only dog and would probably be lonely without other four legged friends.
I am a young adult now, nicely tall and about 120+ lbs, and still growing.
I do require constant supervision or crating – if I get bored at night, I’ll take things off bookshelves to play with or chew, and I LOVE water and will chew through hoses and sprinklers to watch it spurt out when left outside. Oh, and I’m quite adept at counter surfing!
As is normal for my breed, I can be stubborn and willful, so I will need an experienced pet parent that can train me consistently with love and patience and professional obedience training is highly recommended. I must be an inhouse companion only – not a guard or yard dog – so please be prepared to have an XXL crate available for me to stay in when I’m not being supervised.
I have NOT been around small children, and, although I haven’t been around cats, either, they are probably a no go given my prey drive.
My adoption fee is $300, and please be prepared to spend at least that much for a crate for me if you don’t already have one. Because I will require crating until I’m fully adult and fully trained (at least another year or so), my foster mom says I really need a family where someone is home and able to pay attention to me most of the time – I wouldn’t be happy left in my crate every day for hours on end.
