Sweet Carla! This adorable girl was found wandering in the middle of the road here in Conroe. She was microchipped as adopted trough the shelter but when we called her owners, they were nowhere to be found! So Carla now awaits a new home and new life with us here in rescue!
Carla is a very cute and sweet boxer mix, who currently is thin and weighs around 35-40 lbs but will be around 55lbs when fully grown. She is estimated to be around 9 months of age, so she has plenty of growing up to do and is still very much a puppy! She is a healthy, happy little girl who has a joy for life and everything in it. Carla adores her people and like all boxers, prefers her humans company above all others. She has a moderate temperament and energy, which is a sigh of relief when dealing with this hyperactive breed! She is super excited when she meets new people and loves to give kisses and playfully paw at her human companions.
Though she can be hyper, she is very well behaved for a young boxer and minds well when given commands. Carla is exceptionally smart, and already has mastered some of her basic obedience commands such as sit, stay and go to crate. Though she isn’t a huge fan of her crate, she is crate trained, housebroken, and walks well on leash. Continued training with this girl will be fun and easy, as she responds to her people well, especially if she is motivated through positive reinforcement and treats!
Carla gets along with most dogs she meets, but would do well in a household with dogs that are not hyper or too puppy. Though she enjoys playtime, she isn’t a big fan of dogs constantly in her face, but has done great with all her foster siblings currently! She doesn’t mind cats and seems to understand to mostly leave them be with their space, which works out well for adjusting cats. Because she is so friendly and gentle with people, children would be an easy adjustment for this sweet girl so any home or family would be great for Carla!
