My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Red is estimated at 12 pounds and 12 yrs old. He has spent the last 5 months impounded in a shelter, as evidence in a hoarding case against his last owner, who was a rescuer who only had him for a few days, during the month of June.

He has been subject to the heat of the summer and the cold of the winter for the last 5 months while in the shelter and has probably not had any blankets or comforts all that time.

Prior to June he was in a different shelter for about a month. We don't know his history before that. We can only imagine that he had some aweful owners who felt the need to abandon him when he got older, probably because they wanted a younger dog instead.

Having had such a hard life, we are in need of a very special foster home or adopter who wants to spoil him rotten, and give him the retirement he deserves.

It is expected that he will be awarded to the shelter on January 6th, and then will finally be allowed to come to our rescue.

The most idea situation for him would be a foster-to-adopt....someone who could take him in right away as soon as he is released to us, take him home and care for him, while we guide you through the process of getting his health checked out (we pay those vet bills at our vet).

We do know that we are going to have to get Red Dental care and possibly some extractions. We are told he also has a heart murmur that is not causing him any problems right now.
