Meet Shyla! This adorable girl was found roaming the cold streets of Houston where she found a rescue angel who pulled her to safety. She was emaciated, tired, and terrified for her life. Since arriving in rescue she has come a long way, and is now looking for someone to help her complete her journey!
Shyla is a American Bulldog mix who is estimated to be around 2 years of age and is a medium size, weighing in at only 45-50lbs. She is a little shy when first meeting people but when she is on leash with someone who loves her, she slowly gains confidence and will happily follow you. Shyla will definitely need to be an addition to a family who already has another dog. She will need someone patient to help her adjust to her new life and home!
She is great with dogs of all sizes, and absolutely adores her canine friends here with us.She gets along great with all her foster siblings and prefers their company above all else. Her favorite thing to do is go out with her furry friends on a trip to the pet stores and buy a tasty snack or new toy!
Indoors, Shyla is still learning the routine and sounds of the house, but outdoors she turns into a confidence, bouncy little dog who loves to run and play. She LOVES to chase around her foster siblings and then throw herself on her back and wiggle about! She will jump up on you to ask for a scratch, and will chase toys and run and play outside with her friends. She loves to make new friends!
Shyla would do best in a quiet home, a family with children who are older or more dog experienced so they can take things slow and really gain her trust. She has never shown any kind of aggression from her discomfort therefore we feel children are definitely capable of being this girl’s new best friend! She is housebroken and crate trained, and her crate is her safe zone so anytime she is feeling uncomfortable, she will just go lay down in her crate and wait for things to settle down. She walks well on leash as long as she has another pup to walk with!
SHYLA completed our canine rehabilitation program as she was shy and fearful but she is now confident, happy, and ready for her next new step into the world. Please consider SHYLA as a new member of your family! To adopt, contact us at KMCanines1@gmail.com for more information!
