Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Please meet our adorable and fun loving senior girl 10 year old Teriyaki, or Akki for short. Akki has had a very difficult last 6 months when the only family she ever knew got rid of her because she had fleas. Knowing this wasn't right the Vet staff called rescue and she was taken in. For the first few months of being in foster care Akki excelled!! Akki grew up with two young toddlers and never had an issue. Although she does have some quirks as most Jack Russell terriers do; she was very happy and did very well with the senior dog she was fostered with. The foster home recently took on a new puppy and things are not working out between the new puppy and Akki so Akki has come to live in a wonderful foster home!
Some more important history; Akki will bite. She has proven this before; however I believe it to be 100% manageable. for this reason she needs an experienced adopter who understands the breed. Akki's bites don't happen "out of no where" they are provoked- usually by grooming or attempting to move her with force. Ie pushing off the couch, picking her up unexpectedly. Working with her requires someone who understands positive techniques to these behaviours. (Eg. "Trading up") Teriyaki has had a full blood panel done and is in great health!
Akki has lived with two large dogs and one senior small dog she has no issues with any of these dogs. She is also living with a cat who she ignores. Akki would prefer a home with a senior pet, or a laid back calm dog. She requires a loving home who will not use corrective methods but rather positive based training. We are confident that with the right person Akki can retire and enjoy the rest of her senior years
Is there someone out there with the heart to take on a desperate senior? Puppies are often adopted out very quickly while poor seniors spend their lives in foster care. If you have any questions not answered here please email kerrysk9revolution@hotmail.com for additional information or to fill out an adoption application
Teriyaki's adoption fee is $200.00
