Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Say hello to Scheyna! This pretty lady is a 7 year old husky that is looking for a new family to call her own. While she has always primarily been an outdoor dog, with proper time and training we think she would make a wonderful indoor dog as well. She LOVES attention and isn't afraid to ask for it! While she loves all two-leggers, due to her size and mouthy play-style we think an adult only home (or a home with teenage children) would be best. Scheyna does have a strong pray drive so a home without small animals is a must. She is also a husky that’s admittedly ... a little husky. That being said she is working on getting back in shape! Lastly, she does currently receive a pill for incontinence (which may be related to some of the extra weight she is carrying around). The medicine she receives is inexpensive (approximately $42 for a 3 month supply) and she gladly takes it, especially when disguised with a yummy treat! If you are looking for a cute and cuddly fitness partner that will gladly accompany you on all of your adventures this coming spring, please consider Scheyna! To learn more about her and/or setup a meet and greet, please feel free to contact us via email (info@dogslednh.com) or at 1-603-545-4533.
Our Adoption Fee: is $250 and covers: health certificate, microchip, bordetella, dhlpp and rabies vaccines, spay or neuter surgery (if necessary), a Ruffwear Webmaster harness and use of Whistle GPS tracker for 3 months.
Things To Consider Before You Adopt
- Our adoptable sleds dog are used to living in an outdoor, working environment. This means that they will need to be house trained and exposed to "house stimulus" like stairs, cars, vacuums, wood floors etc. Adopting an adult sled dog is similar to welcoming a puppy.
- Our adoptable sled dogs range from medium to high energy. In general they require multiple walks daily and engaging toys when inside the home. A bored/under exercised sled dog can be a destructive and anxious sled dog!
- Our adoptable sled dogs are trained to run and are therefore a high flight risk. We do require that they be on leash or within a fenced in yard at all times until proper recall training has been received.
- Our adoptable sled dogs have befriended many kitties in their new homes, that being said adopters are instructed to monitor all interactions with small animals as our four-leggers have limited exposure to them while with us and there is no telling how they may react.
