My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lovely Oona is a happy, active old girl. We believe she’s a sheltie/pom sort of mix. She loves people and tolerates other dogs as long as they respect her personal space. She’ll grumble if they get too close. But she is a beautiful little gem of dog.

Oona’s age is a mystery. HLD took her from another rescue who guessed she was about 15 years olds. Our vets, however, don’t believe she quite that old. They think she might be as young as eight. So we’ll split the difference and say she’s about 10 - 12 years old. Oona weighs about 12 pounds. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and is so ready for a new life in a new forever home.

Our adoption process is simple. We ask you to complete a one-page application. An interview will then take place in your home. There will be no adoption fee. Donations, though, will be appreciated. Adoptions outside of Northwest Arkansas are not out of the question. We welcome sincere inquiries from anywhere, and we’re happy to work with long-distance applicants.
