BABY JANE; was found with her Finnigan back in late July, just sitting on the sidewalk on a very busy main road in the middle of Metuchen. A good samaritan couldn't stand the idea of leaving them out there to get hurt, so off she went knocking on doors, trying to figure out who these girls belonged to. After a few loud knocks on a door, a woman answered, and admitted she had been keeping them in her house but they had gotten out and she couldn't let them back in because her dog didn't like them. She also admitted they hadn't been to a vet, and weren't spayed. Well, with some gentle encouragement, the woman agreed that it was in the cats best interest to go with this Good Samaritan and be placed for adoption through Hope for Animals. Both cats seemed to be happy with this idea because Baby Jane was waiting to walk into the carrier and Finnigan was by that time hanging onto the Good Samaritan's pant leg.
Baby Jane is VERY Sweet! She likes it best when you settle your hand near her chin and then stroke her face and along her back. She LOVES to sit perched on her cat tree (the top spot!) and LOVES to play. The vets have estimated her age between 1-2 years. So she has some of the playful antics of a kitten, but some of the grown up reservedness of a young lady. Baby Jane (and Finnigan) get along very well with other cats. Baby Jane may do best in a quieter household where she will have to time to adjust and feel safe with her new family. She is sure to make a great companion, but needs a patient pet parent to allow her to settle in at her own pace and adjust on her own terms....We think a calmer household with fewer people may allow her the space she needs to acclimate and bond with her new family.
