Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Zoe she's an approximately 4 year old German Shepherd. She was abandoned by her owner 8 months prior to her rescue at a boarding facility. The boarding facility was concerned with Zoe's weight and hair loss and I was contacted July 1st, this beautiful affectionate girl was not meant for long term boarding. After attempting to get her owner to claim her dog Zoe was handed over to me to seek veterinary care and to find a forever home. She is crate trained and passed all temperament tests with flying colors. She would do best in an experienced dog home, Zoe needs a confident handler. She has shown signs of being protective of her handler with other dogs, but has been residing peacefully with up to 10 other dogs since July 5th with no issues. Zoe is doing well with all of the dogs and even our cats, but she does bark at feral/free roaming cats. Since arriving at my home it has been discovered that this awesome gal knows basic commands in English and German! Zoe was obviously thoroughly trained but could use a refresher. She also needs to maintain a limited ingredient diet as she is prone to yeast infections, however, an allergy shot has helped her tremendously.
** German Shepherds are highly active dogs and described in breed standards as self-assured. The breed is marked by a willingness to learn and an eagerness to have a purpose. They are curious, which makes them excellent guard dogs and suitable for search missions. They can become over-protective of their family and territory, especially if not socialized correctly. They are not inclined to become immediate friends with strangers.German Shepherds are highly intelligent and obedient.**
