Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Colt is a 2 year old male bull terrier that weighs 45lbs. This handsome pup was left behind to fend for himself when his owners moved out of their home. He didn't seem to know what life indoors was like and had minimal interaction with people. Since he's been with us we've seen this puppy blossom; he is now crate and house-trained. He would like to live with an adult couple that will walk him. We do not believe he was beaten just ignored, left in someone's backyard. Now that he's included in family activities he's really opened up and there's a sparkle in his eyes that wasn't there before, and he wants nothing more than to snuggle with you on the couch. If you're looking for a highly trainable Bull Terrier this is the one for you. He. IS. Amazing.
Update: Colt was not socialized but he's completely turned around. He used to 'shut down' and hang his head when brought indoors. Now he runs with a flourish into the house when called. We've had Colt since October 2014 when he was approximately 8 months and have discovered he has allergies but since pin pointing his allergy to WHEAT we haven't had any more allergy flares and no longer need to get the Depomedrol shot every 13 weeks. Colt had surgery to remove a foreign object from his stomach (plastic). Therefore, I advise he be supervised constantly due to his odd habit of ingesting non food items. When not supervised he will need to be crated for his own safety. As far as food goes he requires grain and wheat free food with lots of moisture.

***Bull Terriers can be both independent and stubborn and for this reason are not considered suitable for an inexperienced dog owner. They are protective of their family, although comprehensive socialization when they are puppies will prevent them from becoming over-protective and neurotic.***
**Pets will not be shipped nor transported to adopter. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a first come first serve basis. Meet and Greets are scheduled when an application has been approved.
