Piper was rescued from a local shelter with his sister Joan. He appeared healthy, if a bit timid, but when you rescue animals often times initial contact is all you have to go on. Soon after his rescue he became very ill and had to be confined to a cage for medical treatment. It was the only choice and his caregivers felt it best if his sister Joan kept him company. Turns out that was a wonderful gift because Piper wasn't just timid he was seemingly feral toward humans but being with his sister was a great comfort to him. While the siblings slowly got better (and are perfectly healthy today) they weren't able to be socialized so both become even less domesticated. In a medical facility it is hard to also socialize animals and without foster homes kitties like these don't always fare well. Most are sent to barn homes (if they're lucky) but even barn homes are limited. Today, we're happy to announce that Piper is a quirky, friendly, social love bug! He is extremely loving, he adores his sister and fawns over the smaller foster kittens he lives with. He LOVES, seriously LOVES his toy that makes bird chirping sounds and I hear it all hours of the day and night. It's cute, but less cute at 3am than it is a 6pm, let me tell you. Piper is a curious, playful, happy boy he loves laps and is a big time cuddler at night too. Adorably he has one white whisker among all the black ones and visible fangs. It's too cute! He likes other cats (and will need to be adopted with at least one playmate) and warms to dogs but is mostly indifferent. Like any other kitty, Piper has some things he doesn't like. He doesn't like fast movements in his direction or being chased. He's not a fan of being held though he can be easily picked up, crated, medicated and nail trims are easy too. He doesn't like sudden loud sounds and kids under 10 would probably terrify him (like they do his foster mom) but these are arguably things many cats don't like. Piper is a typical kitty with some minor boundaries his family should respect just so they don’t scare him. He also doesn't care for heights so a tall cat tower isn't necessary, plus he's very clumsy so you're essentially saving his life. He's been a wonderful foster and I think that there is nothing more rewarding than nurturing these kinds of kitties. If you'd like the honor of getting to know Piper and cultivating your own special relationship with him please contact us or submit your application.
This brother/sister duo is looking for their forever family. We've posted this pair before and they gave it the old college try a few times at the pet stores but they didn't meet the right family. Maybe today is their lucky day and their future Forever Mom or Dad is reading this right now! Future Mom or Dad is thinking to themselves "I cannot live another second without these two kitties!" And they'd be right! Don't wait! Contact us! And, even if your thoughts were somewhere in the vicinity of "cats" well, you should contact us too and let's talk more about this pair and your potential new family members. They need a special home with special people and will offer you untold joys. We guarantee it!
All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, up to date on shots, combo tested negative for FIV/Leukemia and microchipped.
