My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a new mom (sorry dads need not apply). I’m much more comfortable & at easy with the ladies. Sadly men make me nervous & put me a bit on edge. Currently I’m in a wonderful foster home & honestly I’m trying to learn to trust my foster dad but my past haunts me every time he’s near. I’ve blocked out as much of my past as I can & although I don’t remember specifically what happened I just know it wasn’t very nice. I’m sorry but I can’t disconnect this from other men even though they have done me no wrong. So for this reason please don’t judge me I’m seeking a new mom.

My name is Bruno & I was originally a southern boy who came to NH over the summer in search of my new family. I’m still very young at only a year old & I’m much smaller than your typical Husky. I’m a sweet boy who needs just a little time to trust & adjust to new situations. To me it’s kind of like an interview process. I just want to be sure that your heart is pure & has nothing but love to give.

I enjoy cuddles & belly rubs. I will affectionately offer you tender kisses upon your cheek. I’m very happy go lucky with those I trust. I’m playful, enjoy exploring the neighborhood & make a great shadow. I’m smart & willing to learn anything especially if treats are involved. I’m very savvy with other pups but at times might be slightly overwhelming to my more laid back friends. I would truly thrive in a home where I had another pup to hang out with. Cats are really not my cup of tea. They are strange creatures I don’t understand so living without them is a requirement. Human kids make my heart sing. They are so fun to play with. Although you may be thinking I’m not your typical pup…I agree I’m not but I would make a remarkable sidekick for that special someone if you just give me a chance. I promise to love you with all my heart. I promise to cherish every moment we spend together & most importantly I promise to be your loyal companion. Since I’m residing in one of the shelters amazing foster homes you do need an approved application in order to meet me so come down & ask about me…Bruno!

Note: As with all of our dogs, we strongly recommend obedience classes for new owner and dog to create a life-long bond with the adopted dog based on trust, respect and rewarding training experiences. We are offering dog training classes through FMAS Wagtime Dog Training. You can check out more information at www.fmaswagtime.com. We can help you train practical skills you use every day with positive reinforcement training. Our shelter dogs are strays and we observe and assess their behavior at the shelter which may be somewhat different in a home environment. In addition dogs adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received their Rabies and distemper vaccinations as well as other necessary medical care such as flea treatment. All dogs are also heartworm tested. Some prudent care such as heartworm medication is not provided at the shelter and should be taken care of at the earliest convenience upon adoption.
