Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The Frisco Kid: 8 yr old male Brown Tabby American Curl
I only just barely managed to not name him Smiley. Look at that face ! What a smile!
We are calling him The Frisco Kid because San Francisco is where he came from. He was living in the big garage of a woman who had been moved to an assisted living situation.
He was pretty upset when he arrived. Polite but very reclusive. Scared and unsettled. (The last photo shows how he looked when he arrived.) He wasn’t that way for long! What a dreamboat he has turned into. Nice guy! He is fairly attention starved and will settle into your lap and stay there as you pet him. And, yes, he will drool a little to show his intense appreciation of you . He is a super special kitty and we are all in love with him.
American Curls are cats who come from a breeding line that has a natural genetic mutation to the ear causing it to bend backwards. This is entirely cosmetic and in no way harms the kitty or his or her hearing. He has a full, medium-haired coat of soft brown and black fur and green eyes. He is a pretty big cat with a long body, big paws, and funny looking ears.
I think probably life has not been very good for this nice boy and the two other cats who were with him in the garage for at least the last year of his owner’s troubles, and maybe longer. Frisco has been so happy to be with us where he gets love and attention on a regular basis. Now he is ready for his own home. Some of the photos show the sadness that is occasionally still in his eyes. Others show that he is very much a baby and needs to be held and comforted and cuddled..And some photos show him happy and goofy and with a million dollar kitty smile. He will be so happy to be in his new loving home.
Frisco would likely do fine with a gentle non-alpha cat companion, given a nice slow introduction. He is a playful kitty who loves wiggling feathers. There was also a big dog in his family so he may be fine with a friendly dog. A loving, stable, fairly quiet home would be great for this unusual boy.
Someone will be so lucky to have his entertaining company.
The Frisco Kid eats wet and dry food and is litter box perfect.
His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
