Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Copper is a 3yr old Bloodhound.
Copper went to the vet this week. He weighed in at 84 pounds. Doctor said she would like him to gain 5 to 10 pounds. They were so impressed with his behavior and temperament! He actually fell asleep during the exam! He enjoyed everyone he met. He didn't even flinch for his shots or blood work, just laid there for belly rubs.
We worked slowly on getting Copper use to living indoors and not a working dog. We take morning walks to help his nose stay out of trouble. He likes to pull on the leash. He doesn't mean to do it, he just wants to keep sniffing but is easily corrected. He is calming down in the evenings and lying down during Family/TV time. He played well with the resident dog but will need slow introductions.
Overall he is a sweetheart. He takes treats so gently out your hands. Sometimes he likes to play soccer with them first too. He loves attention from anyone. He knows the term "leave it" more and more as he will try to sniff his way up on the counter or trash, but listens immediately to stop. He comes for the most part when called. He minds the crate and knows he goes in there when we are gone or bedtime.
For Copper's home: He will be good with other kids and dogs. Cats would be ok if given time to adjust and get to know them. I would prefer a fence because he loves outdoors and to roam.
Copper's adoption fees are $500*
