Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Doodle. I’m not a Yankee, but I think of myself as just plain dandy! It embarrasses me to say this about myself since I am usually very humble, but I am a strikingly good-looking 2 /12 year old brindle boy.
I am very shy by nature, and all of the new experiences I have been having lately have taken a little getting used to. With a few more up-close and personal encounters with a bed of my own, toys, treats, and very kind people, I’m sure that I will come out of my shell and feel less introverted and afraid. In fact, I’m looking forward to that!
Doodle does fine with small dogs and cats. I am optimistic about the possibilities a forever home presents for my happy future. Take a chance on meeting me, and I’ll take a chance on you!
FOSTER UPDATE:
While Doodle is still overly cautious in public places, he has made remarkable improvement at home. He now confidently approaches us with a helicopter tail, and no longer runs away if we look or move towards him. He loves roaching on his bed with a toothy grin, and let's you pet him freely whether he's standing or laying down. He's not much of a snuggler, but he did lay down on a blanket with Andrew the other day. He can be a little possessive of his bed, letting out a growl if someone else tries to share it with him.
When I come home from work, he gets very playful and a little jumpy excited. He follows me around the house, poking me with his nose and sometimes now nipping to get attention. He has recently become a lot more playful with toys and bounces around clumsily wanting to play with people or our dogs. He loves running and chasing around the yard. His energy is certainly picking up, with his confidence, but doesn't last long. He is for the most part, quite loving and mellow.
Definitely becoming more curious and wanting to be involved in whatever is going on. He whines to get attention. He seems to enjoy all of our dogs with the least interest in our little one who doesn't really ever play. Doodle loves to sing and howl when he's in the house and hears the coyotes outside or a fire truck siren. He's also becoming a watch dog barking and running towards the door if he hears something outside. This may be learned from his sharpei-lab "role model."
