THELMALU is 2+ years old, spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm tested and on monthly heartworm preventative.
THELMALU came to MinPinHaven as part of a huge rescue from a puppy mill in Missouri where her life consisted of living in a small cage being bred for her puppies. She had never known running freely in soft grass nor warm bedding at night. Although she trembled for the first several hours of her rescue, she is now coming out of her fearful shell and amazingly, learning to trust humans & know love for the first time. As her foster mom I've had to patiently give her the time she needs to open up & interact in a home setting. Every day I see great progress & continue to praise her with soft caresses & calm words. Little THELMALU is also getting very comfortable sniffing & exploring the yard & is very careful to "do her business" outside every time! She can be timid at the door at times, but learning it is OK to go out when "mom" goes out too. She is enjoying the 3 resident dogs & fits into the household routine very well. She sleeps in her crate at night but enjoys an hour of quiet petting & belly rubbing while we watch TV before "lights out" at night. Walking on a leash has been a new experience, but will be second nature in a few days. She is also learning the joy of squeaky toys for the first time! THELMALU is learning about love and trust & so deserving of a special forever home. Minpins can be quite energetic, she will need daily walks & playtime... & very inquisitive, your home must be doggie-safe, she will need toys to keep her occupied when you are away. She could easily fit into a home or condo setting and with continued training, praise & love she will be a wonderful companion in your home. With a life expectancy of 15+ additional years, please be sure your commitment to her will last thru all of life's changes.
