Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Freya is currently living in a boarding facility in Houston and is available for local or out of town adoption.*
Our amazing Freya is a 2.5 year old, Pointer/American Staffordshire Terrier mix with solid body and the cutest solid white coat and chocolate eye patch. She weighs in at about 45 pounds and is so full of personality and charm. After spending just one day with Freya, you’ll know that she’s your lifelong companion.
Freya is the type of dog that shows her personality very well with her facial expressions and body language. She’s friendly, playful and very outgoing at all times. She exudes happiness all day and all night and that’s evident in her constant smile and tail wag. We know that this girl will complete a family and that family will do the same for her, so we are eager to make that union and watch her further blossom into the best dog ever.
Her closest human friends describe Freya as a sweet and gentle girl and have invited her into their own homes to give her a break from the facility. Her appreciation shines through when she immediately becomes the shadow to the person she’s with. She thrives on human attention and is curious and excited about the possibility of her very own new beginning.
Freya loves other dogs and gets along beautifully with all that she’s met thus far. She has been known to share bones, toys, treats and even her bed with other pups, so we feel she’d be a seamless addition to a family with other pets; however she would also be a great single dog and soak in all of the attention. Dog park visits could be a great source of exercise and socialization for Freya and her new family members as well.
She is a quite girl inside the house and an active, fun-loving friend outside. She really enjoys walks and jogs, although she needs more practice on her leash. She responds well to the training sessions she’s had and simply just needs more and consistency to be a champion walker. She learns new tasks really quickly and is easily corrected while tackling new things. She learned to swim in the pool with ease and enjoyed herself a great deal. She would love to join her new family in water activities and all other adventures as well. She is an excellent car passenger, so taking her for long drives or just running errands would be so much fun for her.
If her life allows her to be someone’s walking, jogging or hiking partner in the near future, she’d be over the moon. She would do great in an active family that has a nice backyard and the time to play with her. This girl will be happy in any situation as long as there is a great deal of love being given. The amount of love you give her will be returned tenfold!
Freya’s ideal family is energetic, but still settles often for rest and cuddling. She’s a bit too active for a family with tiny children, but perfect for any kiddos that are stable on their own feet and will run and play with her. She’s never had a true owner that we are aware of, so she needs a new family that will help her adjust to having an amazing new life, but we feel that based on her behavior in the homes she’s visited, she will just jump right into her new life. She needs daily exercise, continued training for her mouthy play style, lots of love and attention. She’s never been around cats that we know of, so we would have to assume that her spirited nature would instinctively want to chase them.
There are only great things to say about Freya and we wholeheartedly know that she will add so much joy and fun to any family. She’s currently at the boarding facility, but all of the workers and volunteers have her on their favorites list and would recommend her for adoption. She’s available for local or out of town adoption and her adoption fee is $300.
She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and current on her preventatives. She’s available any day to meet her potential new family once an approved adoption application is submitted. To add Freya to your family, please visit our website www.reggiesfriends.org under the Adoptables tab to fill out the application. If you have any questions at all about her, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org.
