My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In early September 2015 we rescued Rocky from the County shelter, where he had been relinquished by his previous owners at the age of 21. They were "moving", and Rocky was scheduled to be put to death.

He started with a great appetite and perfect litter box manners, and oh! so loving and thankful! But this geriatric cat was harboring a nasty respiratory infection that was not evident at the time of his rescue. He became gravely ill two days later and required hospitalization with expensive treatment that ALF was unprepared to fund.

Our dedicated vets at Cobblestone Veterinary Care gave Rocky his fighting chance. He was hospitalized for 4 days, then released with a feeding tube because he was unable to eat. Honestly, we weren't sure he would make it, but at this point, we feel safe declaring that he's going to pull through!

On October 2, Rocky was adopted, fully restored to health!

We only adopt within the Phoenix metropolitan area. If you are out of the area, we recommend searching Adopt-a-Pet for a pet waiting in a shelter near you.

All of our animals are homeless when they come to us. We don't know their history or pedigree. Breed and descriptions are our best guess, based on appearance and sometimes personality traits. We cannot guarantee their information.

If you are unable to adopt at this time, please consider making a donation to help us continue to care for cats such as this one. We do not recover any costs associated with spaying and neutering, and often treating illness or injury, and the lifelong feeding of many other cats who are not as lucky as this one. Visit http://ALF.Petfinder.com to make a donation to ALF.

Thank you for your interest in helping homeless animals.
