My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rizzo is a Dachshund in Chihuahua costume! Most all of her personality traits and actions are more like a Dachshund than a Chihuahua. She can be nervous when she first meets you, but she gets over that quickly. Once she knows you are a source of warmth and scratching, you will be her best friend! Rizzo bonds fast and hard!

Rizzo is only a few years old and is about 10 lbs. She loves to be carried and to be on your lap. She gets along with other dogs yet she would live just fine without any other dogs in the house. She is happy to co-exist with other dogs, but her best friend will come in the human form.

Rizzo loves to be with you and do whatever you want to do. She is a super low maintenance gal! She won't demand a lot of attention, but she will be more than willing to take whatever you have to give!

Rizzo is fostered in Chattanooga, but a meet and greet in Atlanta can be arranged by appointment.

Prior to adoptions, all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age appropriate), heartworm tested, microchipped and are kept up to date on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.

Adoption fees are $300 for dogs up to 8 years of age and $200 for 8+ years.

SOMAD is a private, all volunteer, foster-home based rescue group. Please be patient as we answer your inquiries; we do our best to answer emails within a day, however volume and regular life schedules sometimes delay us.
