Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Lobo is currently living in Houston, Texas and is available for out of state adoption. He is a very special boy to all of his rescue friends and we are thrilled to help him on the next step of his journey.*
Hello, my name is Lobo. I have an interesting name and an even more interesting past. My owner was homeless in Houston, but I was loyal to him and remained by his side. Things started to get very hard for my owner and a kind rescue person offered to help me get into a better situation. Despite the love my owner had for me (and mine for him, he had to allow the rescue group to take over my care because he wasn’t able to properly care for me. It was a confusing time for me, but slowly I realized that things were looking up. That is my past and I’d like to add a big positive aspect to my story by joining a new family where I’m loved and safe forever.
My coloring often makes people pass me up because I look like I’m and older boy, however I’m only 4 years old. I’m 48 pounds, so I am a really great size, especially considering I’m relatively calm guy. My new friends at the shelter are incredibly affectionate with me and want so badly for me to find my very own family. My past makes me a bit leery of new people at first, so I can be a bit vocal when I’m unsure of things, but after I get to know them… I’m a dream dog. I just need someone to give me the chance to warm up, settle in and then bring lots of joy to your life.
The shelter volunteers give me warm baths, which I absolutely love. Yes, just another quality that sets me apart from the rest. They also make sure that I get my medication because I have allergies here. My friends all think that once I’m out of the shelter and in a real home or in a different area of the country, my issue would significantly improve or go away completely. We can’t be for certain that will happen, but we all are very hopeful. My allergies cause me to have itchy patches on my skin and dry eyes, but I’m still handsome.
I am a laid back guy and my favorite activities include relaxing, taking nice long walks with my friends and occasionally I’ll get out there and goof off like the other pups with a game of fetch. I love to play ball and I’m really good at it. I chase it, bring it back and repeat! I have a very adorable quality that my friends insisted that you know about. Every time I’m finished playing in the yard, I collect all of my toys and put them in a pile and then look at my friend to tell them I’m finished and ready to go back inside. They all say I’m such a gentleman and beyond charming!
I am great on my leash and you’ll love to walk me around to introduce me to your friends. I also enjoy car rides and I ride well, although I haven’t been out on the town very often yet. I definitely want to change that and maybe even get to go on vacation with my family one day. I have great hopes for the day that I’m so loved that my people take me with them on a fun trip. I already know the command sit and since I love belly rubs, I will roll over without even being told. Now that’s a good boy!
I get along with most other dogs, but prefer not to hang out with the really hyperactive ones…we just don’t have much in common. I am perfectly house trained and crate trained, so I won’t require too much of you except for loads of love. I promise that I will give it back to you tenfold though. I’ll be loyal, sweet and yours! My ideal family is one with time to spend with me, loves to walk and play ball, but also relax and hang out inside together for lazy days. I’d be best with an adult couple or a family that has older children. Very young children make me a bit nervous with their endless energy because I’m a calm guy who appreciates a daily routine. I’d do well as a second dog in the family if the other is relatively mellow and very friendly, but I’d be perfectly content as the only pup in the house as well.
I hope that I sound like a perfect match for you. I’m very eager to find a family to love deeply as I once did. If you’d like to learn more about me to see if I’d be an excellent companion for you, please email my friends here at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org. If you just know in your heart that I’m THE ONE for you, you can find an adoption application on the website, www.reggiesfriends.org, under the Adoptables tab. My adoption fee is $500 to cover the cost of my airline flight and travel kennel, which I can keep and use in my new house.
