Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Aurora and Sophia are a bonded pair and are currently living in Houston, Texas in an amazing foster family. They are available for out-of-state adoption.*
These sweet girls are just 6 months old and just 6 pounds each. They are Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mixes and the cutest girls ever! We met Aurora and Sophia at the local city pound and they were in terrible condition. They had mange, a non-contagious skin condition, so badly that they were just tiny bodies without any hair. We could see their beauty despite that and knew with some care they would be perfect in a very short time.
Aurora and Sophia both get along well with other dogs, but they are so small that we must match them with furry siblings and humans that will be careful around them. This is also important for any children in the family to be older kids that are gentle and understand these girls are a little more fragile than larger dogs.
Although these babies look and act very similar, they do have differences. Sophia is more of a princess and would prefer to sit in your lap and be held constantly. She’s super affectionate and snuggly. Aurora is a little more independent and would rather keep her 4 little feet on the floor and have a belly rub for her attention. When she is picked up, we are extra careful because she wiggles quite a bit and can jump out of your arms if you aren’t prepared. They do love to play together and are the most adorable little pups as they run and get into all kinds of puppy shenanigans together.
Due to their previous skin condition, both girls need to have Bravecto applied every two months. This medication is a prescription that can be purchased at your vet’s office. This is to ensure that their skin remains healthy lifelong. They are both already spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.
Due to their age, they are still learning proper potty habits and leash training. They still need more practice in both departments, so their new family will need to patient and help them through the puppy stage. They are both well crate trained and they are perfectly content inside together, each with a Nylabone.
Aurora and Sophia are precious little babies and looking to join a family together. They will bring more joy to a new family than one could imagine! They are living with their foster family in Houston, Texas and are available for a loving family now. If you would love to expand your pack by 8 feet and just 12 tiny pounds, please fill out the adoption application on our website, www.reggiesfriends.org, under the Adoptables tab. If you’d like to ask their foster mom any specific questions, please email us at adoptions@reggiesfriends.org today. Their adoption fee is $650 to help cover their airline flight and travel crate, which is yours to keep and use at home upon their arrival.
